๐ The Story
This is a throwback episode. Summer 2023. The hottest summer the Philippines has ever seen. El Niรฑo was brutal that year.
Sat's journey started in Cebu. He took his bike to Cebu Port, got on a ship heading to Tondo Port in Manila. One whole night on that boat. More than 24 hours on the water. Watching the sunset, then the stars, then the sunrise.
And then? 150 kilometers of road. Under the hottest sun.
๐ฅ The Ride
The GPS data tells the story:
- Early morning: Arrived in Tondo, fresh off the boat
- The grind begins: Pedaling north through the heat
- Water stops: Again and again, the heat was punishing
- The haunting sight: Dead fish in dried-up ponds - El Niรฑo had sucked the life out of everything
- The push: One kilometer at a time, roads shimmering with heat like mirages
